Rockworth supports sale of Craig & Rose brand for DGL International
The Scottish brand with a 200-year history has been acquired by Benjamin Moore

Rockworth is pleased to have advised DGL International on the sale of the Craig & Rose brand to Benjamin Moore. The transaction brings together two paint brands with proud histories, as part of the buyer’s wider ambitions for international growth.
Craig & Rose has a long and distinctive heritage. Founded in Edinburgh in 1829, the business has been part of the UK’s decorative paint landscape for nearly two centuries and has built a reputation for craftsmanship, quality and design-led colour. That heritage, together with its distinctive brand identity, has helped Craig & Rose retain a loyal following among customers looking for character and provenance.
Benjamin Moore is a premium paint and coatings company founded in 1883 in Brooklyn, New York. It is known for manufacturing high-quality paints, stains and other finishes, which are sold through a broad independent retail network across multiple markets. Owned by Berkshire Hathaway for more than 25 years, the company is headquartered in Montvale, New Jersey.
The Craig & Rose brand will sit alongside Benjamin Moore’s existing product portfolio, with the deal offering scope to support its continued development both in the UK and in overseas markets.
Rockworth worked with DGL International to discreetly test the market and identify the right buyer for the business. The transaction allows DGL International to focus on other strategic priorities in the UK and across its European operations. We are delighted to have supported the DGL International team on this transaction.
